Display Tests

Display tests help you inspect panels with solid fields, color and contrast aids, uniformity checks, and best-effort refresh or motion tools. Dead Pixel Test includes optional rapid cycle with calm defaults.

Start with Dead Pixel Test or Color Test for visual defects, then open specialized pages for uniformity, levels, refresh estimates, or HDR-related signals. Pair with Device Information when tickets need size and DPR context.

FAQ

Display Tests FAQ

Common questions about this category of diagnostics.

Can a browser detect every dead or stuck pixel automatically?
No. Full-screen solid fields are visual inspection aids. Human scanning still matters; DeviceHub does not claim automated AI detection of every defective subpixel.
How accurate is the refresh-rate or frame-skip reading?
Those tools use requestAnimationFrame-based estimates. The OS compositor, vsync, power saving, and browser scheduling affect results, they are not hardware timing analyzers.
Is the flicker test safe for everyone?
No. Screen Flicker Test includes a strong photosensitivity and epilepsy caution. Do not run flash patterns if you or nearby viewers are at risk, use non-flashing display tools instead.
Do display tests upload my screen?
No. Patterns and timing samples stay in your browser session. Display tools do not request camera or microphone permission.
