Webcam Test — Overview
How the DeviceHub webcam test works, what permissions it needs, and how to interpret results.
Purpose #
Confirm that the browser can open your camera, render a preview, and report basic track settings.
Permissions #
The tool requests camera access through getUserMedia. Deny/allow is controlled by the browser site settings.
Interpreting results #
| Signal | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Preview visible | Frames are flowing |
| Device label present | Browser enumerated the camera |
| Black frame | Often permissions, exclusive lock, or wrong device |
